Ingredients
1 packet Lane’s Creamy White Chilli Recipe Base
2 tablespoons Lane’s Kinda Smokey Barbecue Sauce
1kg beef mince
1 onion, chopped
1 green capsicum, chopped
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
3 tablespoons mustard
½ cup passata
Burger buns
Cheeseburger cheese slices
Butter, for cooking and toasting
Directions
Heat a pan over medium heat and add a knob of butter.
Add the chopped onion and cook until softened and translucent.
Add the chopped green capsicum and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
Stir through the Lane’s Creamy White Chilli Recipe Base, then remove the onion and capsicum from the pan and set aside.
Turn the heat up to high and add the beef mince to the same pan.
Cook the mince until well browned and caramelised, breaking it up as it cooks.
Return the onion and capsicum mixture back to the pan.
Add the Lane’s Kinda Smokey Barbecue Sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and passata.
Stir everything together until well combined.
Reduce the heat and let the mixture simmer for 10–15 minutes, or until thickened.
Butter the outside of each burger bun.
Place a slice of cheeseburger cheese on the outside of the bottom bun and another slice on the outside of the top bun.
Add a generous scoop of the sloppy joe mince inside the bun.
Place the bun into a hot pan or sandwich press and grill until the outside is golden, crispy and the cheese is melted.
Repeat with the remaining buns and filling.
Serve hot while the cheese is melty and the outside is crispy.
